Abstract: The study first discusses the international trend of green supply management, and inspects the existing weaknesses of textile industry in Taiwan. Second it analyzes the possible ways to practice CSR and proposes improvement plans in the green supply chain process of textile industry, from resources, transportation, and production to customers, considering the economic, environmental and social aspects from the angle of CSR. Finally, it finds if there are any values that can be recreated in the supply chain of textile industry by new recycled material in order to enhance the overall efficiency. Nike, Adidas, Columbia, Patagonia and some international channel brands take their social responsibilities actively through carbon footprint verification, carrying out energy saving and carbon emission reduction and developing environment-friendly materials. Under the industrial structure of the textile industry in Taiwan, if we can inspect and think about the values which can be recreated in the greening textile chains with CSR perspectives, we will have the opportunity to lead the world trend and to build up Taiwan textile manufacturers’ images of valuing CSR while creating profits and the enhancing competitive edge.
