    Title: The Development and Integration Strategy of the Sport Tourism in Taiwan

    Abstract: The purpose of this study was aimed to explore the development of the sport tourism, sport tourism policy development and personnel training, and summarize the integration of the sport tourism development strategies. The method of this study is literature review and summarization of the sport tourism. Based on the results of analysis, the conclusions are as follows: 1) According to Taiwanese participation, types, motivations and obstacles in sport tourism, the case analysis shows that Taiwan has got into a stage of development in sport tourism. 2) From the policy integration perspective of development in sport tourism, it indicates that the main policy is to increase the population participating in sport tourism, promoting regular exercising habit to improve citizen’s quality of life. 3) Through internal and external environment analysis of development in sport tourism in Taiwan, integrating the development of the sport tourism strategy to be the priority policies, increasing the opportunities for innovation, training sport tourism personnel, promoting the diversification of sport tourism, combining sport and tourism industries, and coordinating the demand and supply of sports tourism with sustainable developmental strategies have been purposed. Based on the results above, this study suggests that sport tourism development strategies should be based on the market mechanisms and government policies, in order to utilize most of natural and human resources in Taiwan to reach the development of sport tourism.
