Abstract: Cisco Networking Academy is a professional computer assisted learning program for computer networks. Students who pass the Cisco Certification Exam may have better opportunities in network-related job placement. A university in southern Taiwan has adopted the official Cisco Networking materials in its network courses for the first time. We develop a model in this study to integrate five dimensions concerning
the adaptation of such materials: learner, instructor, course, technology, and environment.
Then we have conducted a survey to investigate the critical factors affecting learners’satisfaction with the Cisco Networking materials. The result reveals that the learner’scomputer anxiety, the instructor’s timely response, the instructor’s attitudes toward
materials, the resource of computer classroom, environmental comfort, course’s
flexibility, course quality, technology quality, and Internet quality are the critical factors affecting the satisfaction of the learner. Finally, the study shows that the passing rate of the Cisco Certification Exam is enhanced effectively by introducing the Cisco Networking materials.
