摘要: Introduction: The occupational stress is now a topical issue that many countries have been focusing on studying, particularly in the industries under high occupational pressure like nursing at the hospital. The reality shows that nurses have been daily and weekly working under high pressure, heavy workload, and always faced with emergency situations as well as serious injuries and difficult births. Methodology: This study applies cross-sectional design and conducted on all 430 nurses who are working in Binh Duong General Hospital at the time of study conduction when is from 06 April to 26 April 2015. Quality of work life is including 5 components. The first component is including workload, working condition and job requirement. The second, third, fourth, and fifth ones are including working culture, health condition, other factors, and hour of Works and Balance, respectively. Occupational stress of nurses is assessed by scoring 12 indicators from 0 to 3 points in which the increase of score reflects for the increase of stress. Results: Mean ± SD of occupational stress score of nurses is 11 ± 4 points out of maximum 36 points. Mean of scores ± SD of each QWL component from the first component to the fifth component and overall score of QWL are: 50.56 ± 7.25 points out of maximum 92 points, 16.63 ± 2.71 points out of maximum 24 points, 21.33 ± 3.36 points out of maximum 35 points, 11.57 ± 1.78 points out of maximum 19 points, 8.96 ± 2.29 points out of maximum 18 points, and 109.04 ± 12.66 points out of maximum 188 points, respectively. There are significant relationships between occupational stress score and “workload, working condition and job requirement”, “health condition”, and “hour of works and balance”. Occupational stress score can be decreased by 0.161 points regarding to a decrease of overall scores of quality of work life. “Health condition” contributes most to the decrease of occupational stress score, then “hour of works and balance” and “workload, working condition and job requirement” do so. Conclusion and recommendation: Occupational stress rate of nurses is quite low compared to other studies. Workload, working condition, job requirement, health condition, and hour of works and balance are main factors affecting on occupational stress score of nurses.
