    Title: PANORAMIC PHOTOGRAPHY APPLIED TO ONLINE TOUR SYSTEMS OF CULTURAL HERITAGE

    Abstract: Currently in Taiwan,there is a big leak for introducing the local religion of Matsu, both in Tangible and intangible. Therefore, this project is a pioneer. Not only for Pingtung Tsz Fung Palace is a good theme initiative, but also on teaching and research. This project not only aims to apply the panoramic way to cultural heritage, but also tries to disseminate this concept in the field of cultural heritage. To achieve these purposes, the interviewing seniors, digitalizing archives and panoramic photography are applied. However, the interpretation of panoramic photography technology and related hardware and software are not the focuses of this project, panoramic photography technology is just one of the techniques are applied to achieve the purposes. Interviewing seniors is the first step for executing this project. Through interviewing local old persons, the origin of allusions and stories of the every brick and tile, gods, Matsu, murals and sculpture and other historical remains in Tsz Fung Palace can be understood. Next, the audio and video files and transcript of interviewing those seniors can be preserved and spread. In this step, at least two beneficial results produced:
    1. Digitalizing those archives is good for the future generations understand this building and related stories.
    2. The text or audio-visual files and transcript can become the caption of panorama.
    Third, produce the panoramic photographic archives, which can become the content of a museum-like online tour system, and upload and link to Tsz Fung Palace website. In this step, at least two benefits happened:
    1. Promote the awareness, that technology can save the old stuff and cultural heritage, to the older generation.
    2. Prove that technology is a powerful weapon of disseminating religious faith.
    This project also benefits to teaching and college students. During the execution phase, from first step to finish this project, there are some students involved. In recognition and to promote cultural heritage, produce digital archives and panoramic photography by applying webrotate360 software, use edit software, and so on, they gain rich harvest. Therefore, this project is a kind of sample of application, in which academic teaching combines with local cultural heritage, and, in which panoramic technology combines with local cultural heritage as well.
