As the population of technology savvy increases rapidly, the use of
technology-mediated communication as a mean to acquire language has been a
common phenomenon in distance education for decades. Learning through mediated
information and instruction is promising because it may provide more accessible and
flexible opportunities for learners. This paper was to discuss the effective ness and
practicality of the distance learning in acquiring English language through examining
the student learning outcomes, learners’ attitudes and individual learning style. The
study implemented a quantitative research to collect the data. There were approximate
300 students in the study. All the questionnaire survey was conducted through the tool
of the electronic mail. The study interpreted the findings and drew conclusions through
the quantitative data analysis. It would show how the cutting-edge technology
functions as an instructional and learning tool in distance learning courses and to what
degree student improve their competence in this distance learning course.
