Abstract: This thesis performs a study on factors affecting employee’s motivation at TID Joint Stock Company, Vietnam. Motivating employees is an important component to a successful company. This study has attempted a broader perspective, inviting exploration in an open-ended way of a range of employee’s motivation. It also offers a literature review intended as a significant contribution in its own right, in its attempt to locate research helpful to TID Company. This study also builds up a model to measure the work motivation in company based on the Herzberg Theory with factors such as recognition, salary and benefits, work conditions, and communication. This research also examined the difference of work motivation by following personal characteristic such as age, sex, work experiences, position and income level. After evaluating the employees’ behavior, we found that recognition, salary and benefits, and communication impact on TID’s work motivation positively and work conditions reversely related to TID’s work motivation. There is valuable information for TID to improve its employees’ motivation. Besides, this research also provided a good model for small and medium enterprises to improve their employees’ work motivation.
